Derek Morrison wrote a post about how product managers can manage objections and expectations from other stakeholders. It is not complete by all means, but it still includes some possibilities for the following situations:
- How the Product Management team can mitigate design by committee.
- How the Product Management Team can manage stakeholders with partial technical knowledge.
- How the Product Management Team can prevent the steering group from estimating features.
All these are actual desires of steering groups, so the product manager has to cope with them. Most interestingly, Derek focuses on the informal aspects of product management, suggesting not managing by official meeting but preparing these meetings informally.
